Oliver Abergel

Oliver Abergel is the Managing Partner at Webber Schroeder Goldstein Abergel. A member of Ontario and New York Bars, Oliver has been focused exclusively on defending the rights of criminal defendants for over 10 years. After graduating from McGill University with two law degrees Oliver trained under one of Ontario’s foremost criminal defence lawyers where he learned what it takes to stand up for the rights of the individual against the overwhelming powers of the state. Oliver was hired by one of Toronto’s most prestigious criminal law firms, eventually moving his practice to Ottawa to work as an associate in its newly opened Ottawa office. In 2004, Oliver became a founding partner at Webber Schroeder Goldstein Abergel where he continues to practice in all areas of criminal law with particular emphasis on impaired driving, domestic assaults, and complex drug prosecutions.

Oliver has provided legal advice to the Senate of Canada and his clients have included doctors, pharmacists, high tech executives, diplomats (foreign and Canadian) as well as employees of the federal government, all of whom demand elite representation with a premium on ensuring that their privacy is protected and that they avoid a criminal record.

Oliver is currently pursuing a masters degree in criminal law, which ensures that he is on the cutting edge of Canada’s ever changing legal landscape.
